How Reviews Work

Booking Completion Required

Reviews can only be submitted for completed bookings. Both renters and owners can review each other after a successful rental.

Eligibility: You must have a completed booking with the user you want to review. Reviews for cancelled or pending bookings are not permitted.

Two-Step Review Process

Reviews use a two-step process: first set your overall rating and rate each category with stars, then write about your experience.

Step 1: Set your overall rating, then rate each category (1–5 stars). All categories are required.

Step 2: Write your detailed experience (optional but encouraged — up to 500 characters).

Email Prompts & Timing

Review invitations are sent 24–48 hours after booking completion, with a gentle reminder if no review is submitted within 5–7 days.

Timeline: Initial prompt at 24–48h post-completion, one reminder at 5–7 days. Reviews are encouraged within 14 days.

Response System

The user a review was written about can respond with a professional reply (1,000 character limit). One response per review.

Response Rules: Only the reviewed user can respond. Professional tone required — responses are visible to all users and reflect on your reputation.

Review Categories Explained

For Host Reviews (submitted by Renters):
  • Listing Accuracy: How accurate was the boat description?
  • Vessel & Equipment: Quality and condition of the boat
  • Value: Was the experience worth the price?
  • Departure & Return: How smooth was check-in/out?
  • Communication: How responsive and helpful was the owner?
For Renter Reviews (submitted by Owners):
  • Communication: How responsive and clear was the renter?
  • Punctuality: Did they arrive and return on time?
  • Vessel Care: How well did they treat your boat?
  • Rule Following: Did they follow agreed-upon rules?

An overall experience score is automatically recorded from your overall star rating and is not a separate input.

How Completion Rates Work

Reliability Rating (Primary Metric)

Percentage of bookings completed successfully, excluding admin-approved safety exemptions such as severe weather or mechanical failures.

Cancellation Rate (Transparency)

Total percentage of all owner-initiated cancellations including safety exemptions, shown for full transparency alongside the reliability rating.

Performance Tiers

Superhost≥95% reliability
Excellent Host≥90% reliability
Good Host≥80% reliability
Average Host<80% reliability

Tiers are only shown to renters once an owner has completed at least 5 bookings.

Safety Exemptions

Owners can request penalty exemptions for safety-related cancellations such as severe weather, mechanical failures, or medical emergencies. These require admin approval with supporting documentation. Approved exemptions do not count against reliability ratings.

Prohibited Content

  • • Personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory language

  • • Promotional content, spam, or commercial solicitation
  • • Inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
  • • Attempts to circumvent platform policies
  • • Fake photos or impersonation in profiles
  • • Contact information shared to bypass the platform

Data Retention

Profile and review data is retained according to our platform policies and applicable legal requirements.

Profile & Review Deletion

Users can delete their profiles, but reviews they have received remain visible to maintain community trust integrity. Deleted user reviews display as "Former Member." Contact support at info@aquavora.com for special circumstances requiring review removal.
